Mortgage Underwriter

Our client, a 25+ year old mortgage bank in Nassau County is currently seeking an experienced Underwriter. Responsible for consistent and accurate underwriting as required by bank Underwrite various mortgage loan products Verify accuracy of supporting employment verification, credit strength, assets, and all other information pertinent to the credit decision process Ensures mortgages meet agency requirements to obtain mortgage insurance certificate Confers with mortgage processors regarding loan qualification parameters Make loan decisions in a timely manner Approves loans based on the amounts established in the current lending policy . Requirements 4+ years of mortgage underwriting experience Have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Extremely driven to meet deadlines Possess professional and leadership qualities Ability to multi-task Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to make credit recommendations Meet production, quality, and service standards Self-motivated Have the ability to work independently; producing results in a timely manner.
