Job Description

The Quality Control Technician supports a food manufacturing production line by ensuring product quality, consistency, and safety in a structured, predictable environment. This role trains new workers, maintains high housekeeping and sanitation standards, and collaborates closely with production leadership to ensure smooth handovers between shifts. The technician applies strong attention to detail and quality assurance practices within a cookie production and packaging operation.

Responsibilities

• Train new workers thoroughly on quality control procedures, production processes, and safety practices to ensure they perform their tasks correctly and consistently.
• Maintain housekeeping and sanitation standards to support a clean, safe, and compliant food production environment.
• Work closely with Production Supervisors and other production leaders to ensure effective production handovers between shifts, including clear communication of issues, priorities, and status updates.
• Apply quality control and quality assurance methods to monitor food manufacturing and packaging processes and ensure products meet established standards.
• Inspect products, packaging, and production processes regularly to identify defects, deviations, or nonconformities and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Support consistent production flow by helping to achieve productivity goals while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Demonstrate self-motivation and a results-oriented approach in daily tasks, focusing on continuous improvement in quality and efficiency.
• Communicate effectively in both Spanish and English with production staff and supervisors to address quality issues, provide guidance, and support teamwork.
• Exhibit professional behavior by keeping emotions under control and maintaining a positive, cooperative attitude with diverse coworkers.
• Work with above-average concentration and memory to follow established procedures, complete tasks in the correct order, and maintain a constant state of alertness.
• Follow a structured daily routine, performing similar tasks each shift in a consistent sequence to support predictable production operations.

• No specific educational requirement, with the ability to learn and apply on-the-job training effectively.

Work Environment

This role is based in a standard food production warehouse environment within a cookies production department focused on mixing and mini pan operations. The position works on 1st shift, typically from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with standard 8-hour shifts and regular Saturday work as part of the schedule. The work area includes moving equipment such as forklifts and machinery like conveyor belts and production equipment, with exposure to moderate to loud noise and fluorescent lighting. Cleanliness and sanitation are essential, and the production environment includes the smells of cookies and other food products. Products manufactured in this facility may contain peanuts and tree nuts. The role operates in a highly structured and predictable setting, where tasks are completed in the same order each shift, often in the same areas and with the same team members, with a steady work pace and minimal downtime.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Brunswick, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
