Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantThe Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial information across multiple entities. This role assists with financial reporting, account reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable activities, fixed asset accounting, and month-end close processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to contribute to a dynamic accounting team.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide accounting support across multiple entities, contributing to accurate financial reporting and financial statement preparationProcess accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, vendor payments, and related documentationPrepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accountsReconcile bank accounts, debt agreements, and revenue and expense accountsSupport fixed asset accounting, including asset tracking and construction-in-progress activitiesAssist with month-end close procedures and audit preparationPrepare financial, accounting, and administrative reports as neededMaintain data accuracy across ERP systems and accounting platformsInvestigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and variancesSupport internal and external reporting requirements and special projects as assignedRequirementsMust live within a commutable distance to Columbia, MOBachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred; equivalent professional experience consideredCPA designation or CPA-track is a plusSolid understanding of accounting principles and practical application of GAAPExperience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processesProficiency with financial reporting software and ERP systemsStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication abilitiesAbility to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlinesStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
