Medical Support Assistant

The Medical Support Assistant provides clerical and clinical support duties for a variety of inpatient care programs. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Expertly verifies and transcribes detailed physician orders related to inter-unit/facility transfers, diet, lab work and consults
• Proficiently follows patient safety procedures
• Independently assists physicians and nurses with obtaining patient services at affiliate institutions, including obtaining local approval, registering, scheduling, and arranging transportation, as well as follow-up appointments.
• Independently completes clerical processes for patient admissions, discharges, transfers, nursing home placements, and referrals. Inputs data and verifies care levels with admission orders with high accuracy.
• Expertly prepares clinical records for pre-surgery, surgery, or other appointments
• Maintains a comprehensive log of appointments and transportation arrangements, coordinating with nurses and other staff to ensure smooth patient movement for appointments, clinics, therapy, and procedures.
• Schedules patient appointments for primary care and specialty care independently, ensuring all details are accurately coordinated.

Work Schedule: Sunday through Saturday, 8 hour shifts, 40 hours/week
