Job Description Gerrity's Meat Cutter provides outstanding customer service to our valued patrons in order to foster new and repeat business. The Meat Cutter’s core responsibility is to produce a fresh, high-quality selection of meat and poultry products for our customers on a continuing basis. The Meat Cutter is responsible for performing these duties as directed by the Meat Manager and/or Assistant Meat Manager. The Gerrity's Meat Cutter will present him/herself in a professional and courteous manner at all times while performing defined responsibilities. The Meat Cutter is responsible for always maintaining our high standards of Customer Service. Other duties may be assigned as required, depending upon the available time, business volume and other criteria as determined by your appropriate supervisors and/or Gerrity’s Supermarkets. Full compliance with current and future policies will be required to ensure that your work contribution is in the best interest of Gerrity’s Supermarkets. Responsibilities Competent knowledge of Essential Functions of Meat Apprentice Stock meat case with a variety of meat products while maintaining proper placement of signs Remove product from the case that is outdated or unappealing for sale Assist with the cleaning of the meat case as required Maintain cleanliness of the meat equipment and the prep area according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health Responsible for the proper cutting of all meat products Responsible for maintaining proper presentation and display of meat products Unload meat from delivery truck and store refrigerator Responsible for checking and maintaining proper case temperatures on a daily basis Cooperate with other departments and managers when interdepartmental or store wide promotions Qualifications No minimum educational requirement needed Must be at least 18 years old Minimum of 2-3 years meat-cutting experience desired Must be able to regularly move and/or lift 50 lbs, and occasionally lift 100 lbs Fluent English-speaking and writing skills Neat, clean, and professional appearance Outgoing, friendly, and positive attitude Equal Opportunity Employer Gerrity's Supermarkets is an Equal Opportunity Employer that recruits and hires qualified candidates without regard to race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, disability or veteran status.
