Medical Assistant

Job Description: Welcomes patients by greeting them in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries. The medical assistant prepares patients for the healthcare visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room. Verifies patient information by interviewing the patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history and medications; taking vital signs; confirming the purpose of visit or treatment. Performs electrocardiograms. EHR experience required. Maintains patient confidentiality and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential. Prepares charts for upcoming appointments, ensuring all relevant documents are readily available to providers. Must be a team player. Communicates effectively with providers and staff. Travel between Starke and East Palatka locations required. Handles referrals and schedules patients. Obtains authorizations as needed. Able to handle a heavy patient load. #J-18808-Ljbffr
