Summer Care Lead Teacher

St. Paul the Apostle – Lead Teacher (Summer Care Program) St. Paul the Apostle is seeking a lead teacher to join our summer care program team for the 2026 season. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working with children and want to gain hands‑on experience in a childcare or elementary educational setting. Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled. Schedule Start date: June 1st (beginning with training) Start with students: June 8th Mid‑Summer break: July 6th – July 10th End date: August 13th Shift: Monday‑Thursday 7:30am‑5:30pm (40 hours/wk) General Responsibilities The duties of the summer care lead teacher include but are not limited to: Lead fun, educational, and age‑appropriate games, crafts, and activities in partnership with a co‑lead teacher Foster positive relationships with children by providing emotional support, encouragement, and guidance Assist children with conflict resolution and developing self‑control Assist in managing behavior by using positive reinforcement techniques and redirecting as necessary Ensure a clean and organized environment, including cleaning up after activities and maintaining a safe space for play Attend weekly field trips with school‑age students and maintain the safety of the students off campus Qualifications Over 18 years old Has a driver’s license Has 1 year experience working with children Has the ability to multitask and stay patient in an active environment CPR and First Aid Certified or willingness to be trained (employer will pay for training) Blood Borne Pathogens training (employer will organize training if not yet trained) Must have or be willing to take Virtus – Protecting God’s Children Training (employer will organize training if not yet trained) Must have or be willing to take Child Care Licensing Health and Safety Training (employer will organize training if not yet trained) #J-18808-Ljbffr
