Consultant, Product Architect

Job Summary Product Architect – Nationwide Technology, Columbus, Ohio (Hybrid). Responsible for designing and maintaining systems architecture for PC Services, focusing on desktop engineering, endpoint management, software distribution, automation, application platforms, and asset management. Influences enterprise AI adoption and platform evolution. This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization, and Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT Extension program. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain systems architecture for a product domain, business function, or technology portfolio. Ensure product meets functional and non-functional requirements. Contribute to strategies, blueprints, and roadmaps for product/application/technology areas with a focus on technical directions like Cloud First. Align product/application roadmaps with solution and enterprise roadmaps, establishing guard rails. Apply secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to protect data and technology solutions from threats and vulnerabilities. Identify technology risk, technical currency, and technical debt related to applications when planning new solutions, upgrades, or maintenance. Design moderate to sophisticated build patterns, accelerators, building codes, and carry out compliance with architecture standards. Drive technical quality by conducting or participating in architecture, design, and code reviews, capacity planning, modeling, and testing. Provide guidance and feedback on talent development within the area of responsibility. Mentor product/application teams when new technologies or techniques are introduced. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or a related field is preferred. Eight to ten years of experience in a technology domain. Broad knowledge across multiple architectural domains and technologies. Awareness of emerging technologies; experience with cloud technologies preferred. Strong communication, facilitation, and executive presence. Ability to influence, build relationships, negotiate priorities, and make decisions on technology strategies. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge is a plus. Leadership and technical competencies may be prioritized as needed. Location and Working Arrangement Hybrid role based in Columbus, Ohio. Business casual attire allowance. Compensation Salary range for Consultant, Product Architect: $118,000 to $222,000 annually. Expected starting salary range: $118,000 to $178,000.
