Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• 3 months of Epic experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Missouri license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: HealthTrust Program - Mercy (MO) and no current placement allowed at Program: HealthTrust Program - Mercy (MO).

• 12 months gap required between for Per Diem at Program: HealthTrust Program - Mercy (MO) and no current placement allowed at Program: HealthTrust Program - Mercy (MO).

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: - Must have charge experience OR be willing to learn and take on charge duties.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - Neuro and stroke experience highly preferred.

Special Requests: - Block requests are considered, but never guaranteed. - Requested time off: up to 5 days in each 13 weeks can be automatically approved; anything more is subject to approval prior to confirmation and would need to be made up at the end of the assignment.

Unit Details: - Medical and surgical neuro patient population, including Parkinson’s, stroke, and lumbar cases; no trauma. - Uses customary equipment, including IV pumps.

Shift & Scheduling: - Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week. - Every other full weekend required; Saturday and Sunday will be required unless otherwise approved prior to confirmation. - Expected to work at least one major summer holiday (Memorial Day, July 4th, or Labor Day) or one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s Day). - Call requirements as required by facility. - Night shift orients on day shift and must be available the entire week for orientation.

Floating Requirements: - As required by facility, will float to Med Surg and Progressive.

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW : This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.

5 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 07/04/2026, 09/07/2026, 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 12/31/2026, 01/01/2027, 05/31/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1
