Clinical and Research Fellow in Plastic Surgery Research Unit profile The Plastic Surgery & Burns Research Unit (PSBRU) was established by Prof David Sharpe in the wake of the devastating Bradford City FC fire and is now lead by Professor Ajay L Mahajan. The PSBRU has always had close working relationship with the skin researchers at Bradford University and is now an autonomous unit with the Universitys Centre for Skin Science (CSS) lead by Professor Margaret Thornton. The CSS is the largest academic base in the UK offering what is a unique blend of fundamental and applied skin and hair follicle science. The PSBRU has been involved in various projects on wound healing over the last 30 years, presenting its work at various national and international meetings and publishing in various peer reviewed journals. The role will swap between clinical and research placements. The clinical placement will be full time and the successful candidate will work on the Tier 1 rota covering ENT and Plastic Surgery (including nights and weekends). The research placement won't have any paid hours. Salary and rota enhancements will be based on an average of both working patterns, meaning working overall on a part time basis.
