Assistant Professor of Cyber Engineering Technology & Computer Science Pay information not provided The Department of Computational, Engineering, and Mathematical Sciences at Texas A&M University-San Antonio (A&M-SA) seeks applications from qualified candidates, with a passion for teaching and scholarship, for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position for the Cyber Engineering Technology & Computer Science programs. Excellence in teaching at all levels of the curriculum, participation in grant writing and funded research projects, and ability to collaborate with colleagues on curricular and programmatic issues is expected. Growth of the two master’s programs in Cybersecurity and Computer Science is a priority for the university. The base teaching load at A&M-SA for Assistant Professors is 3/3. Summer teaching assignments may be available but are not guaranteed. Service to the department, college, university, and community is expected. Responsibilities Teach undergraduate courses primarily in cyber engineering technology and computer science while available to teach in the graduate programs in computer science and cybersecurity. Contribute to impactful research primarily in cybersecurity and AI security. Contribute to the service mission of the university. Required Education and Experience Ph.D. degree from a regionally accredited institution in technical areas of Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field. ABD will be considered if the requirements for the Ph.D. degree are completed before the appointment begins (degree conferral may happen later). Record of peer reviewed scholarly work related to cybersecurity, AI security and interdisciplinary areas. Demonstration of interaction and communication with students, faculty, and staff. Preferred Education and Experience Cyber Engineering Technology, Computer Science and Cybersecurity, teaching at the university level (Graduate Teaching Assistant Experience in these areas will be considered).
