Job Title: Production Worker

Job Summary

The Production Worker ensures the smooth, safe, and efficient creation and packaging of ice products. Duties include running ice-making and bagging machines, maintaining cleanliness in the production area, and stacking heavy bags of ice onto pallets.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Equipment: Run ice-making, bagging, and sealing machinery safely and efficiently.
• Quality Control: Check ice blocks or cubes for clarity, size, and purity before packaging.
• Packaging and Stacking: Fill bags with ice, seal them properly, and stack them onto pallets (often weighing 10 to 40 pounds per bag).
• Inventory Management: Move finished pallets to cold storage or freezers using a pallet jack or forklift (if certified).
• Maintenance and Cleaning: Clean and sanitize production lines, work areas, and ice bins regularly. Follow all food safety guidelines.
• Safety Compliance: Wear required cold-weather gear and personal protective equipment (PPE). Report any machine errors or safety issues immediately.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Physical Strength: Ability to lift heavy weights (up to 40 pounds) repeatedly and stand for long hours.
• Work Environment: Comfortable working in cold, wet, and freezing warehouse or factory conditions.
• Experience: Previous warehouse, factory, or food production experience is helpful, but employers often provide on-the-job training.
• Reliability: Punctual and dependable attendance, especially during peak summer seasons.
