NYC Talent works in partnership with government, employers, industry professionals, educational institutions, nonprofits, and philanthropic organizations to ensure the City's workforce development strategy aligns with employer demand, jobseeker needs, and the rapidly changing economy. The Problems You’ll Solve: NYC Talent is seeking a Project Manager, Programs, to provide communications, policy, and programmatic support to implement and operate the work of NYC Talent. The Project Manager will work collaboratively across NYC Talent staff, City Hall staff, City agencies, and external stakeholders, leveraging the resources of New York City and our partners to build an integrated, equitable, and efficient workforce system that gets New Yorkers good jobs and supports a strong local economy. This role brings creativity and a drive towards measurable results. The Project Manager, Programs will report to the Senior Advisor, Programs. The role is full-time and will work primarily from NYC Talent’s Manhattan office at 1 Liberty Plaza. The role is eligible for hybrid employment per City policies. Job responsibilities for the Project Manager, Programs, include, but are not limited to: Managing project plans and deliverables, meeting deadlines, and identifying and resolving issues and challenges that arise. Providing administrative support for the Chief Policy and Programs Officer and Senior Advisor, Programs, including scheduling meetings, maintaining organization of program files, and tracking and reporting on key deadlines and project milestones to City Hall and other applicable agency leaders. Providing analysis, advice, and recommendations on policy and programmatic decisions regarding NYC Talent initiatives, including those that focus on priority populations such as young adults, people with disabilities, older adults, immigrants, Veterans, public benefits recipients, and justice-impacted. Coordinating and preparing briefings for meetings, events, tasks, and other initiatives. Drafting meeting agendas, tracking next steps and follow-up items, and ensuring such tasks are executed. Developing and executing communications tools and strategies, such as printed materials, newsletters, and social media. In collaboration with City agencies, support nonprofits and other contracted service providers through technical assistance and advisement. Coordinate with other NYC Talent teams, such as Industry Partnerships, the Workforce Development Board, the Center for Workplace Accessibility and Inclusion, and the Apprenticeship Accelerator, to support alignment of programming with industry trends and City priorities. Collaborate with NYC Talent’s External Affairs team to showcase successes, share best practices, and promote key initiatives and event planning. Support with the supervision of Youth Interns and /or Apprentices, as needed. Supporting research and policy development to increase program effectiveness in terms of operations, outcomes, vendor compliance, stakeholder management, etc. As needed, representing NYC Talent at meetings, public forums, conferences, and similar events with internal and external stakeholders. Developing and maintaining subject matter expertise related to local government workforce development, including policy, procurement, reporting, and data. Simultaneously managing long-term project deliverables with emergency and time-sensitive requests. Undertaking and supporting special projects as assigned. Performing other duties as assigned. About You: You have excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with diverse audiences. You are highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize conflicting demands in a fast-paced environment. You can work independently and exercise a high degree of initiative to accomplish tasks and solve problems. You can learn new skills as needed and adapt to the changing needs and challenges that will arise with a new citywide initiative. You have proven capacity in project management skills, including organizing and strategic planning. You are proficient in Microsoft 365, including SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams. You have familiarity with project management software such as Airtable. You have experience with design and communications tools such as Canva, Constant Contact, and social media platforms. You have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to interface and build partnerships with program stakeholders both in and outside of government. You have experience with/knowledge of City government, workforce development, youth development and education, and/or government procurement. Minimum Qualifications 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or 2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or 3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
