About Mentor Public Library Mentor Public Library serves the communities of Mentor, Mentor‑on‑the Lake, and Concord Township with a service population of more than 60,000 residents. With four locations, 64 dedicated staff members, an annual operating budget of approximately $6 million, and a strong reputation for innovative programming and exceptional customer service, MPL is a dynamic and community‑focused organization. The library is also currently undertaking a main building renovation project, making this an exciting opportunity to help guide the organization through an important period of growth and transformation. Responsibilities Lead financial planning, budgeting and reporting to the Board of Trustees and Executive Director. Oversee the library’s operating budget, monitor expenditures and financial performance, and prepare detailed financial reports and statements. Supervise the Deputy Fiscal Officer, ensuring accurate record‑keeping and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Coordinate with the Executive Director to develop strategic growth initiatives and support facility renovation projects. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or finance (Master’s preferred). CPA licensure is an asset. Three to five years of experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and fund account management. Strong analytical and communicative skills; ability to translate financial data into actionable insights. Experience in a nonprofit or public‑sector environment is preferred. Benefits Starting salary of $85,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
