Campus Security Officer

School District 49 is actively seeking a Campus Security Officer at Falcon High School. The pay range is $19.16 to $23.67 per hour, based on relevant prior work experience. The final starting rate will be determined after reviewing the experience listed on the job application. The position is eligible for the district benefits plan. The Campus Security Officer is responsible for monitoring campus to ensure the safety and security of students, staff and visitors.

Essential duties and responsibilities include monitoring students in building and/or on campus, monitoring surveillance camera system, observing and gathering information regarding students using alcohol, drugs, gang activity and/or any other illegal activity, assisting administration with investigations as assigned, monitoring traffic flow before and after school and at functions, conducting building sweep and secure assigned areas as requested, preparing incident reports as requested, escorting students and visitors as needed, ensuring students, staff, and visitors adhere to school board policies and regulations while on campus, conducting locker, property and person searches as assigned, assisting with evacuation of building during drills and actual emergencies or emergency lockdowns and reviewing and updating crisis intervention plan and/or evacuation procedures, preparing statistical reports.

This position reports to the Building Principal and has no staff supervisory responsibilities. The requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, plus specialized courses in criminal justice or education related courses preferred. One year and up to and including two years of experience in security related fields, working with adolescents or previous law enforcement is required.
