Occupational Therapist (OT)

Role Overview The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitative care within skilled nursing facilities, focusing on long-term care and short-term rehabilitation for patients with diverse needs, including orthopedic, neurological, and cardiopulmonary conditions. The role involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to develop, assess, and modify patient treatment plans to improve functional abilities and quality of life. Key Responsibilities Implement and monitor individualized occupational therapy programs based on physician referrals. Establish, evaluate, and adjust patient goals to ensure measurable progress. Supervise and evaluate care provided by OT assistants, aides, and students. Maintain accurate, timely documentation and utilize therapy software effectively. Communicate with patients, families, and support staff to coordinate care and meet patient needs. Ensure adherence to safety, sanitation, and compliance standards, maintaining confidentiality. Participate in community health initiatives and uphold professional standards. Qualifications & Skills Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT). Current state licensure and NBCOT certification (renewal optional). CPR certification required; maintained during employment. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication. Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and ability to work independently and within a team. Ability to perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, lifting, and moving patients safely.
