IMS System AdminLocation: RemoteJob SummaryKey responsibilities include installing and supporting the IMS product, administering and supporting IMS/TM, IMS/DB, IMS MSC, and IMS related subsystems, performing IMS product installation and maintenance using SMP/E, troubleshooting IMS system issues, supporting IMS database administration activities, designing and maintaining IMS database structures, monitoring IMS environments, supporting COBOL and PL/1 based IMS applications, working with application teams, operations teams, and vendors to resolve production issues, implementing IMS maintenance, PTFs, upgrades, and migration activities, creating and maintaining technical documentation, operational procedures, and support guides, and participating in on-call support and disaster recovery activities.Required Technical SkillsOperating Systems: IBM z/OS, MVS Mainframe EnvironmentIMS Technologies: IMS/TM, IMS/DB, IMS MSC (Multiple Systems Coupling), IMS Database Design, IMS Recovery and Performance TuningMainframe Tools: SMP/E, IPCS, BMC IMS Tools, TSO/ISPF, SDSFProgramming Languages: COBOL, PL/1, JCL, z/OS AssemblerNetworking: TCP/IP, FTP, VTAMPreferred SkillsExperience with IMS upgrades and migrationsKnowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutionsExposure to RACF security administrationPerformance monitoring and capacity planning experienceExperience in large enterprise production environmentsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field8+ years of Mainframe System Programming experience5+ years of hands-on IMS Administration/System Programming experienceStrong troubleshooting and production support backgroundNice to HaveDB2 knowledgeCICS administration experienceAutomation tools exposure (REXX, NetView, OPS/MVS)
