Senior Java Developer

Our client, a leader in healthcare and life sciences, is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join their team. As a Senior Java Developer, you will be part of the software development department supporting critical lab operations and external client workflows. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a collaborative mindset which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Senior Java Developer

Location: Durham, NC (Hybrid Onsite 3 days per week)

Pay Range: $60-70/hr W2

Not eligible for visa sponsorship or C2C

What's the Job?

• Design and implement scalable Java-based solutions that support operations and external client ordering workflows
• Build and enhance services related to orders, processing, and issue resolution within ordering systems
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and working implementations
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and other engineers to improve system reliability and performance
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute AWS-based design decisions

What's Needed?

• Senior-level Java experience (typically around 10 years, or slightly less with strong depth)
• Strong core Java skills with real-world, hands-on development experience
• Proven experience designing and implementing solutions, not just executing pre-written specs
• Experience with AWS, including designing cloud-based features and components
• Solid understanding of backend systems, APIs, and enterprise workflows
