You will lead and collaborate on projects involving facility modifications, new equipment installations, and infrastructure development, ensuring that all systems meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and compliance. Your work may include conducting and reviewing complex engineering studies such as short-circuit analysis, device coordination, equipment sizing, fault current calculations, exterior lighting design, and arc flash assessments for both medium- and low-voltage systems. You may also support demolition, installation, upgrade, and repair activities, as well as have the opportunity to qualify as a Cognizant System Engineer (CSE) for one or more Vital Safety Systems (VSS) supporting LANL nuclear facilities.This position requires demonstrated technical depth in electrical engineering, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and proven leadership in guiding cross-disciplinary teams within a highly regulated nuclear environment. The candidate must be able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, applying broad and diversified knowledge of nuclear facility engineering principles and practices in the preparation and execution of nuclear facility engineering deliverables. This includes utilizing nuclear engineering technology to accomplish work safely and efficiently while continuously improving engineering and work processes to meet evolving customer and mission needs. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical foundation, sound judgment, and the ability to integrate requirements across multiple systems and disciplines to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable facility operations.
