Description The Department of Immunology and Immunotherapy and the Colton Center for Autoimmunity at Mount Sinai are seeking a highly motivated Clinical Research Coordinator I to join a growing, multidisciplinary program focused on understanding and transforming the care of autoimmune and immune-mediated diseases. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of patient care, clinical research, and cutting-edge human immunology, alongside leading rheumatologists, immunologists, clinician-scientists, and translational researchers. The successful candidate will help coordinate clinical studies involving patients with autoimmune and inflammatory diseases and will play an important role in connecting clinical research with biological discovery. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable interacting with patients and clinical teams, and excited by the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative research environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career researcher interested in gaining hands‑on experience in clinical and translational research, autoimmunity, immunology, or medicine. Responsibilities Coordinate the day-to-day activities of clinical research studies in autoimmune and immune-mediated diseases. Work closely with rheumatologists, immunologists, research investigators, clinical teams, and study participants. Screen and recruit eligible research participants and obtain informed consent under the supervision of study investigators. Educate participants regarding study requirements, longitudinal follow-up, and research procedures. Coordinate clinical data and biospecimen collection, including blood and other protocol-defined samples. Collect, organize, and enter study data into research databases with a high degree of accuracy. Perform chart review and maintain complete source documentation and participant research files in accordance with institutional and regulatory requirements. Coordinate the processing, delivery, and shipment of clinical specimens as required by study protocols. Assist with preparation and maintenance of Institutional Review Board documents, study protocols, grant materials, and other regulatory documentation. Support study monitoring visits and ensure research records are accurate, complete, and current. Collaborate across research and clinical teams within the Department of Immunology and Immunotherapy and the Colton Center for Autoimmunity. Perform other related responsibilities as needed to support the Center’s clinical and translational research mission. Why Join Us? This role provides the opportunity to become part of an expanding effort to rethink how autoimmune diseases are studied across traditional medical specialties. The Clinical Research Coordinator will gain exposure to human immunology, longitudinal patient studies, biospecimen‑based research, clinical investigation, and multidisciplinary translational science, while working closely with investigators committed to moving discoveries from patients to the laboratory and ultimately back to improved patient care. Qualifications Bachelors or Masters degree in Science or closely related field. No experience required. One year of research experience preferred. Preferred Skills 1–2 years research experience. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple research activities. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, physicians, scientists, and research staff.
