Role overview

We’re seeking a precision‑minded professional to service, repair, and refine stamping dies and related tooling—both in‑press and in the toolroom—while partnering closely with production and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all safety, environmental, and OSHA requirements.
• Diagnose, repair, and optimize stamping dies in the press and in the toolroom.
• Review specifications and lay out metal stock for repair or modification work.
• Set up/operate machine tools to service dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
• Fit and assemble components using both machine tools and hand tools.
• Execute TIG/MIG welding on tool steel components during repair/rebuilds.
• Spot and polish die details to improve part nesting and minimize wear on high‑contact areas.
• Measure and verify dimensions, alignments, and tolerances with calipers, micrometers, gauge blocks, and dial indicators.
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T specifications, sketches, and models.
• Communicate effectively with production and maintenance teams.
• Perform other tasks as directed by supervisors or management.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Tool and Die certification preferred.
• Minimum of four years’ relevant experience or completion of an approved trade school program.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret blueprints/technical drawings, including GD&T.
• Experience with precision measuring tools and standard machinist equipment.
• Capable of following written and verbal instructions.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Physical & visual requirements

• Regular standing, walking, and frequent use of hands to handle tools/equipment.
• Frequent lifting/moving of up to 50 lbs.
• Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Required vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work conditions & safety

• Manufacturing environment with moving mechanical parts and stamping equipment.
• Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and electrical equipment.
• High noise levels may occur; hearing protection is required and provided.
• Safety glasses are required and provided.
• Steel‑toe boots or shoes are required.

Compensation and benefits

• Shift premiums: 2nd Shift $2.00/hour; 3rd Shift $1.50/hour.
