Shift: Days | 5×8-hour shifts Contract: 13 Weeks On-Call: Required

Job Summary:

• Provide skilled technical care to pediatric patients in the operating room.
• Perform scrub and/or first-assist duties under the supervision of an RN or physician.
• Prepare surgical instruments, equipment, supplies, and case carts for procedures.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and other members of the surgical team.
• Ensure all necessary equipment, supplies, and instrumentation are available during procedures.
• Review and update preference cards following procedures as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including unusual occurrences, sterilization logs, and orientation records.
• Support quality improvement activities and departmental initiatives.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to medical center and departmental policies.
• Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, adaptability, and effective communication.
• May train to operate various surgical lasers.
• Meet departmental on-call requirements.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of a Surgical Technology Program.
• Current BLS certification recognized by AHA.
• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist through one of the following:
  • NBSTSA – National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
  • NCCT – National Center for Competency Testing
• Pediatric OR experience preferred.
• Must be available for on-call assignments.
