Safety Coordinator

Safety Coordinator Earthworks Inc. is hiring a bilingual (English/Spanish) Safety Coordinator to ensure all field employees are fully trained on all equipment and are operating safely and at maximum potential. Job Type Full-time Key Responsibilities Discuss the importance of safety and awareness including proper hydration, clothing and shoes, lifting techniques, and maintaining safety for others. Train new hires on proper use of all equipment (except riding mowers) and hand tools, covering pruning, cutbacks, digging, vine and weed removal. Train new hires on proper fueling and storage protocols for equipment and chemical safety, including proper mixing and use of Roundup. Set high expectations for quality of work; all tasks should be done correctly the first time. Quality, like safety, is everyone's job. Set proper expectations of workload and pace once assigned to crew (pull your weight and respect others). Discuss protocol for employee issues or grievances and how to resolve them. Introduce/hand off employees to new crew/foreman in person. Assist with dispatch of maintenance crews. Assist with crew field training on days with no new hire training. Actively foster and improve morale and teamwork for field staff.
