- Conduct thorough evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using both formal assessments and observational methods.
- Create individualized treatment plans that focus on both immediate and long-lasting communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions, concentrating on language, communication skills, voice, and safe swallowing practices.
- Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team of physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families for holistic care.
- Educate patients and families, equipping them with strategies to support healing and progress beyond the therapy sessions.
- Occasionally perform inpatient evaluations and therapy interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care for all patients.
- Keep precise documentation that meets all necessary state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Engage in continuous education and professional development, staying abreast of the latest advancements in the field.
- A master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not already certified by ASHA.
- Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Expertise in evidence-based practices for individuals of all ages, with a robust understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Strong interpersonal and communicative skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Flexibility in adapting therapeutic techniques to cater to varying cultural backgrounds and language needs.
- Solid clinical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
- Competence in managing electronic medical records and documentation requirements.
