Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Machine Operator in our Carpet Cushion Department, at our Richmond Plant location (2400 Richmond Highway, Richmond VA 23234). This position will work on a team at the Carpet Cushion Production Line. This position will operate and monitor industrial machinery to produce high-quality carpet padding according to specifications.

This position is Monday through Friday, 1st Shift (6:00am to 2:30pm). Additionally, in order to meet production needs, all employees in our manufacturing industry are expected to work more than 8-hour shifts and on weekends (if needed).

Compensation for this position is $24.99 per hour. This amount increases at 3 months totaling to $27.22 per hour.

Essential Functions

• Set up, operate, and monitor industrial carpet cushion line machinery and equipment
• Adjust machine settings to meet product specifications and production requirements
• Inspect finished products for quality and report defects or inconsistencies
• Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on equipment
• Maintain accurate production records and logs
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
• Meet production targets and deadlines
• Communicate issues or equipment malfunctions to team and Supervisor
• Must successfully be forklift certified.
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have at least 2 years of experience operating an industrial machine in a manufacturing, chemical, or production environment
• Must successfully pass Carpenter Co.'s Forklift Certification process
