Registered Nurse - Psychiatric

Job Summary:
Provide specialized psychiatric nursing care to patients, focusing on mental health stabilization and recovery. Deliver comprehensive assessments and implement individualized treatment plans within a clinical setting.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients’ mental health status and document findings accurately.
• Administer medications and monitor patients for adverse reactions or side effects.
• Implement crisis prevention techniques and de-escalate potentially volatile situations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans.
• Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions and treatment options.
• Maintain compliance with all licensing, certification, and facility policies.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid New York State nursing license.
• Possess a minimum of 5 years of psychiatric nursing experience.
• Have at least 2 years of recent travel nursing experience, with renewals preferably documented.
• Maintain BLS and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certifications.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to diverse clinical environments and patient needs.
