Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift

A bit about us:

A growing plastics manufacturer is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support its overnight production operations. This position will troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on plastic extrusion lines and auxiliary equipment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical abilities and experience working with industrial electrical systems.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot and repair plastic extrusion lines, dryers, crystallizers, winders, and auxiliary equipment
Diagnose hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical issues
Work with motor and heater circuits ranging from low voltage through 480V three-phase
Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
Troubleshoot electrical circuits and PLC components using multimeters and other diagnostic tools
Respond quickly to production breakdowns and minimize equipment downtime
Complete preventive maintenance tasks and document repairs, parts used, and outstanding needs
Remove and replace defective components using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools
Fabricate repair parts, machine guarding, mezzanines, and other equipment using welders, plasma cutters, torches, and grinders
Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements

Qualifications:

At least three years of industrial maintenance or related manufacturing experience preferred
Industrial electrical experience required, ideally including 480V three-phase systems
Candidates willing to complete additional electrical training may also be considered
Experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, safety procedures, and work instructions
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods
Comfortable working around elevated platforms in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment
