Part-time, On-call Caregiver

The Arbor at Berkeley is seeking skilled and compassionate Caregivers to serve their residents. Currently, part-time and on-call opportunities for a Med Tech are available on every shift. A qualified candidate can expect a wage of $21.00-22.00/hour, plus full-time benefits. Job posting will remain open until all positions are filled.The ideal candidate is attentive, patient, professional, and committed to delivering excellent care and customer service to seniors.Position SummaryThe Caregiver is responsible for supporting residents with personal care, daily routines, mobility, dining assistance, observation, and overall comfort. This role also helps maintain a safe and welcoming environment, communicates changes in resident condition, and works closely with the nursing and leadership team to ensure quality care.Essential ResponsibilitiesAssist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral care, and hygieneHelp residents with mobility, transfers, repositioning, and transportation throughout the communitySupport residents during meals, including set-up, encouragement, and after-meal assistanceObserve residents closely and promptly report changes in condition, incidents, injuries, or concerns to the nurse or supervisorAnswer call lights and check on residents regularly to ensure needs are being metMaintain accurate documentation, flow sheets, and care-related records as assignedHelp prepare rooms for new residents and assist with admissions, transfers, and dischargesSupport a clean, calm, respectful, and positive living environment for residentsFollow community policies related to infection control, safety, confidentiality, resident rights, and abuse reportingUse only the equipment and care techniques you have been trained and authorized to performWork collaboratively with coworkers and other departments to provide excellent resident care and serviceQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredPrior caregiving experience in senior living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, or healthcare preferredStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to remain calm, respectful, and professional in a fast-paced care environmentMust be reliable, punctual, and able to follow direction and community proceduresAbility to document clearly and accuratelyMust maintain resident confidentiality and professionalism at all timesPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, lift, reposition, and assist residents throughout the shiftAbility to lift and/or move up to 25 poundsAbility to perform physically active work in a caregiving environmentWe are seeking team members who are:Compassionate and resident-focusedDependable and accountablePositive and team-orientedObservant and safety-mindedPassionate about caring for seniorsWhy Join UsMeaningful work serving seniors in your local communitySupportive team environmentOpportunity to grow in senior living and caregivingA chance to make a real difference every dayApply today to join our Berkeley team and help provide exceptional care to our residents.We are an equal opportunity employer.
