Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level 1 Trauma and Burn Center in Springfield, MO, requiring at least 1 year of ED experience in a Level 1 or 2 trauma facility.

Details

• Emergency Department in a 68-bed unit at a Level 1 Trauma, Burn, and STEMI Center, and a Level 2 Stroke Center
• High-volume urban trauma center seeing 200+ patients per day with high acuity cases; trauma and pediatric experience preferred
• Routine patient ratio of 4:1, subject to change during surge or other circumstances
• Day shift, 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM (3x12-hour shifts per week)
• 13-week contract
• Weekend hours required as determined by facility
• No call or on-call requirements
• No floating required
• EMR: Epic
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or compact RN license meeting eligibility for Missouri licensure required at time of consideration
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA only), and TNCC required; NIHSS required (candidates may be considered without it but must obtain prior to start)
• Minimum 1 year of ED experience in a Level 1 trauma facility, or minimum 2 years of ED experience in a Level 2 trauma facility; experience level must be reflected on the resume
• No employment gaps of 90 or more days within the past 12 months
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required; Canadian SINs are not accepted
• All certifications must be current with no expiration within the first 30 days of the assignment, unless documentation of scheduled renewal is provided
• Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift; ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. and pinch up to 15 lbs.; kneeling, crouching, and crawling required minimally

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include direct patient care for all age groups, encompassing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation using the nursing process
• Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary and other departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
• Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
• Black scrubs required; jeans and unprofessional attire are not permitted
• RTO of up to 5 days is allowed but must be made up during the assignment; RTO will not be approved during the first week of the assignment, and only 1 holiday RTO request is allowed per assignment
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
• Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts at this facility; after completing 3 consecutive contracts, candidates must either separate from the facility for a minimum of 1 year or transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius
