Pediatric Medical Assistant

Job Description Job Description We are seeking a Medical Assistant to become a part of our team! You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the medical facility running smoothly. Responsibilities: * Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner (answering phones and directing calls to appropriate staff, scanning and entering paperwork in patient charts, logging patient and clinical information properly, etc.) * Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff (vitals, phlebotomy, documenting patient information in patient chart, etc.) * Communicate with insurance companies for proper billing procedures and patient eligibility * Escort patients to exam rooms Qualifications: * 4+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant, with pediatrics a strong plus * Medical Assistant Certification or Phlebotomy Certification from accredited schools * Strong organizational skills * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a large Spanish speaking clientele * Willing to work with both adults and children if we are ever short staffed - MUST have a friendly and warm disposition and MUST feel comfortable answering phones and greeting patients AND dealing directly with patients and their families when taking their vitals, recording their medical history and drawing their blood. * Ability to work both independently and as part of a team * We are looking for someone who takes initiative and who has direction * We are looking for a full-time medical assistant Company Description We are a medical facility that has served the Central Islip, Brentwood, and Bayshore community for 22 years and we are looking to hire and invite a medical receptionist to be part of our community-oriented medical facility.
