Registered Nurse In Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour or Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) License: Valid Registered Nurse license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: 22 years of cardiac ICU experience preferred Epic experience required Previous travel experience preferred Description: Weekdays and some weekends required. Rotating holidays may apply. Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity. 36-hour work week with up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period. Patient ratios estimated at 1:1. Skills required include IV start, telemetry management, ventilator care, Swanz catheter management, and conscious sedation. Experience with balloon pumps and pulmonary artery lines is also required. Additional skills include emergency medication administration, interpret arterial blood gases, and manage dysrhythmias. Previous experience with patients on ECMO is required. Candidates must have the ability to manage complex patient cases involving cardiovascular conditions. This position requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Patient diagnoses include various cardiac and respiratory conditions, requiring advanced care techniques. This role involves managing advanced medical equipment and procedures, such as total artificial hearts and ECMO. Candidates should be familiar with infection prevention protocols and patient safety practices. A commitment to providing high-quality care is essential.
