You’ll be at the forefront of innovations, creating a new paradigms for providing access to compute power, modeling and simulation tools, and data sharing across organizations to the Department of the Air Force and broader Department of Defense.Position Summary:As Software Developer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing secure, end-to-end cluster and application lifecycles in cloud environments. A key aspect of your technical team lead role will be to lead development of the platform’s administrative and platform services, including user management, licensing, usage tracking, application on-boarding, and core platform infrastructure in a secure, cloud-based environment.Key Responsibilities:Lead development and delivery of modeling and simulation software solutionsProvide technical leadership and mentorship across engineering teamsDesign and implement DevSecOps pipelines using GitLab CI/CDDevelop and maintain software systems in C++ for high-performance applicationsBuild and manage artifact pipelines using ArtifactoryDevelop and support cross-platform applications (Linux and Windows environments)Perform development and optimization within RHEL-based systemsContribute to secure system design, implementation, and compliance practicesIntegrate simulation tools and services into larger platform architecturesSupport system integration, testing, and deployment pipelinesCollaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with mission requirementsMaintain documentation and enforce best practices across development lifecyclesWork Environment:Location: RemoteTravel Requirements: ~10%Working Hours: StandardQualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fieldActive Secret clearance with Top Secret eligibility5+ years of experience in Modeling & Simulation developmentStrong proficiency in C++ developmentDemonstrated experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelinesHands-on experience with DevSecOps practices and secure software deliveryExperience managing artifacts using ArtifactoryStrong experience with cross-platform development (Linux & Windows)Experience developing in RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) environmentsExperience with MATLAB for modeling or Simulation developmentProven ability to lead technical efforts and mentor junior engineersStrong problem-solving and system design skillsDesired:Master's degree in Computer Science or related fieldExperience in Aerospace modeling or simulation developmentFamiliarity with AFSIM (Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling)Experience with JIRA and Confluence for Agile project managementProficiency in Python and/or JavaScriptExperience with integration of complex systems and toolchainsFamiliarity with OMS, JSE, or similar frameworksExperience with cloud-based development environmentsBackground in distributed systems or large-scale simulation platformsBasic Compensation:$110,000-$115,000This range is for the Springfield, VA area onlyThe offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s work location, knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience, clearance level, contract affordability and in consideration of internal parity.Additional Compensation:KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
