Direct Support Professional Specialist - Part Time Job Description Posted Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at 6:00 AM Meridian Services offers person-centered supports and cares to individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities, and physical disabilities across a diverse range of settings. These include Residential Services, In-Home Services, and Case Management Services. Today, we have 30 group homes, 150 In-Home person served, and over 100 Case Managers across the state of Minnesota. Job Title: Direct Support Professional Specialist Schedule: Part Time Position- 16 hours/week. Specialists need to be available between 6a-10p every other weekend for scheduling purposes. Schedules are made on a weekly basis. Job Summary: As a Specialist, you will support our people served with daily activities that include working on outcomes designed for each person served at a variety of residential group homes. Outcomes are designed to increase independence in skills. These may include learning more about community resources, finding hobbies, working on personal cares and meal preparations/planning or budgeting. We tailor our services to each person and their needs and wishes. Additionally, as a Specialist, the position entails medication administration, cooking, cleaning, and personal cares for persons served. Required Experience: This position requires 2 years of experience with mental health diagnosis and intellectual disabilities, and experience with high behaviors including verbal and physical aggressions. Required Qualifications: 21 years of age or older Proficient in spoken and written English language Comfortable providing personal cares (including but not limited to: bathroom supports, bathing/showering, medication administration) Successful clearance of Department of Human Services background check Successful clearance of Motor Vehicle Background Check and acceptable driving record per Company Policy Preferred Experience: At least 2 years supporting individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, and/or mental health diagnosis At least 2 years w orking with individuals with verbal and physical aggressions Experience i mplementing Emergency Use of Manuel Restraints (applicable at select programs) Meridian Services Company Benefits and Perks Include: Paid Training MN Earned Sick and Safe Time 401K plan with employer matching after 1 year Select benefits available for eligible Part-Time employees Employee of the month recognition and gift card Growth and Management Opportunities!
