Job Opportunity: Academic Multiorgan Transplant Surgeon

Our organization is looking to hire an Academic Multiorgan Transplant Surgeon at the Assistant or Associate Professor level within the Department of Surgery, Division of Transplantation. The ideal candidate will have a background in kidney, liver, and pancreas transplantation. Clinical responsibilities will primarily involve adult liver and kidney transplants, with a significant emphasis on minimally invasive nephrectomy. Additional duties may include performing general surgery procedures on transplant patients and potentially engaging in hepatobiliary surgery.

The selected candidate should demonstrate a commitment to participating in both undergraduate and graduate medical education. It is essential that applicants are board eligible or certified in general surgery and hold a valid medical license in Illinois prior to their start date.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Completion of an ASTS-approved fellowship
  • Meeting UNOS criteria for liver and kidney transplant surgeons
  • Desirable: UNOS criteria for pancreas transplantation

The chosen individual will be expected to engage in clinical care, educational activities, research, and contribute to university service. Compensation and appointment level will be aligned with the candidate's experience and qualifications.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, which includes:

  • Starting salary ranging from $159,000 to $985,945
