Job Description

Kids' Canvas is a Reggio-based early childhood educational environment for children ages 0-5. We use art, music, theater, movement, science, and nature as tools for creative discovery and learning. Our curriculum encourages children’s natural need to play, create, and socialize and provides them with a warm and nurturing environment to express themselves. We like to follow the lead of our students and give them the freedom to explore their physical and imaginative worlds, while working alongside them.

The Head of School is a full-time, on-site leadership role responsible for overseeing the school’s curriculum, day-to-day operations, and admissions.

The Head of School will manage day-to-day activities such as:

• scheduling staff and students
\n
• communication with families
\n
• ensure compliance with DOH regulations
\n
• Oversee classrooms
\n

This role includes:

\n
• managing staff: conducting regular performance reviews, providing mentorship
\n
• recruiting, hiring, onboarding and training staff
\n

Qualifications

\n
• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field
\n
• Hold or are working toward NYS Initial or Permanent Teaching Certification birth to 2
\n
• Have at least 2 years experience in a center-based program for infant/toddlers
\n
• Have expertise in Reggio-Emilia or emergent curricula and a progressive approach to early childhood education
\n
• Understand licensing requirements and compliance for DOH Article 47 programs
\n
• Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced enrivonroment
\n
• Must be flexible to help out in various aspects of the opeartions
\n

Compensation:

$95,000-110,000/yr depending on experience and qualifications
