Job Summary:

This position is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating behavioral management plans. Assess and intervene in emergency and crisis incidents by following individualized behavior treatment strategies or facility procedures to ensure the safety of clients and staff. Train staff in implementation of behavior management plans. Analyze, develop, monitor and evaluate psychological data. Provide active treatment supports and services to clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities to ensure effective methods of behavior modification and treatment are implemented.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a member of the ID Team which designs individualized plans for each client to ensure effective methods of behavior modification and treatment.
• Conduct group sessions to clients specified in the Individual Support Plan (ISP), to include but not limited to: crisis management and psychoeducational groups.
• Collects, computes and analyzes behavior program data.
• Provides staff in-service training to direct and/or support staff, to ensure proper operation of behavioral programs.
• Provides monthly progress notes based on the plans, observations and attendance.
• Utilization of crisis prevention and intervention utilizing non-violent crisis intervention techniques and SDDC policies and procedures.
• Member of Peer Review Committee, review and approve behavior support plans containing limitations and/or highly restrictive procedures.
• Represent Behavioral Health Team at, but not limited to: Human Rights Committee, Psych Consults, Medication Reviews, Supplemental Team Meetings, Annual Individual Support Plan meeting.
• Assist Behavioral Health Team in Functional Behavioral Assessments as directed by Psychologist or Behavior Analyst.
• Author evaluations utilizing person centered practices and integrated services and support domains for inclusion in the comprehensive functional assessment.
• Authoring behavior support plans without limitations. Co-author behavior support plans with limitations and/or highly restrictive procedures.
• Review administration of emergency interventions, safety frame record, safety precaution forms and incident report forms. Retain documents per retention manual.
• Participate in transition and discharge planning.
• Scoring various standardized tests that measure emotional, cognitive and behavioral functioning.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

A Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services Concentration, Special Education, or related field and has at least one year of experience working directly with persons with intellectual disability or other developmental disabilities. CFR 483.430

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Knowledge of:

• behavior modification therapy principles and techniques;
• basic psychological evaluations and assessment tools and their administration;
• Crisis Management (CPI);
• Person Centered Thinking (PCT);
• Microsoft Office;
• Electronic Health Record (Avatar);
• Active Treatment.

Skills to:

• display strong written and verbal skills;
• effective time management and organization skills;
• display therapeutic communication;
• follow established policies, procedures and guidelines;
• conduct check-in or processing with client, post behavioral event.

Ability to:

• work independently;
• work collaboratively as an ID Team member;
• utilize CPI's Non-Violent Crisis Intervention;
• maintain records and prepare reports;
• facilitate group sessions, attend individual sessions;
• maintain the highest standards of confidentiality;
• provide staff Inservice on behavior plans.
