Stock Purchasing Buyer

Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair, and operation products, is searching for a Stock Purchasing Buyer for our Columbus, OH location.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for meticulously managing and expediting purchase orders for designated product lines
• Thoroughly reviews and responds to daily shortage and fish queues, ship complete, make-item backorder and make-item shortage reports for all distribution centers.
• Maintains appropriate service level on assigned product lines through proper and thorough use of available reports such as the on-hand critical report, "A/B" Critical queue, open purchase order report, and Item Storage queue
• Directs all assigned vendors to ship merchandise in most cost-effective manner
• Establishes discounted terms with vendors and maintains discounted terms that have already been established
• Advises Purchasing Management of any major changes in product quality, cost, delivery, or packaging

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a purchasing, quality, or operations role
• Intermediate computer literacy in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Dynamics, etc.) or other relevant computer programs
• Exceptional communication skills
