Job Summary
At NJ14, SYNERGY HomeCare of Piscataway, we are dedicated to providing exceptional care and companionship to seniors in their own homes. As a Companion for Seniors, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our clients by providing emotional support, assistance with daily living activities, and engaging in activities that bring joy and fulfillment.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and emotional support to seniors in their homes, focusing on their unique needs and interests
- Assist with daily living activities such as grooming, dressing, and medication reminders
- Engage in activities that stimulate mental and physical well-being, such as puzzles, reading, and exercise
- Encourage social interaction and community engagement, promoting a sense of connection and belonging
- Maintain a safe and clean environment, ensuring the client's home is free from hazards and clutter
- Collaborate with caregivers and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and address any changes in client needs
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required
1 year of experience working with seniors or in a related field
Strong communication and interpersonal skills , with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and their families
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks such as transferring clients or pushing mobility aids
Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license (if applicable)
