Division/Department: Marketing Reports to: Content & Marketing Manager Grade 4 Compensation: $18.58-$24.72 Educational Requirement: None Exempt or Nonexempt: Non-Exempt Hourly or Salaried: Hourly Hours Per Week: Part-time; 15-25 hours per week Hybrid or On Site: Onsite with occasional hybrid work as schedule allows. Language proficiency: English. Proficiency/familiarity with another language is a plus but not required. Schedule: Work hours flexible with preferred days Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and weekends/evenings as needed for events and programming. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Marketing Assistant is a part-time position that supports the marketing team to deliver content and marketing across ASI’s platforms including website, social media, and email communications. The Marketing Assistant will collaborate across departments to provide marketing plan organization and timelines in order to deliver engaging marketing campaigns to optimize engagement to a variety of audiences. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES CONTENT CREATION SUPPORT Maintain an awareness of ASI programs, initiatives, audiences, and community to inform content development. Participate in the ideation, storyboarding, writing, and production of multimedia content for social media, web, advertisements, or other channels. Be a resource for content ideas and help to bring your and others’ ideas through to execution that best meets audience needs. Be a creative thinker and champion of innovation in an ever-changing environment. WEBSITE CONTENT SUPPORT Perform daily upkeep of ASI’s website including updating and editing copy and images, populating event information, developing new events or pages, publishing or unpublishing events, or other site functions. Assist with ASI’s blog to support various museum initiatives, including content development and research, writing, and posting content on a frequent basis. EMAIL MARKETING SUPPORT Collaborate with marketing team to develop weekly email communications using Constant Contact that support a broad array of museum initiatives. Source content and collaboratively prioritize the promotion of events or activities with input from various departments and teams. Maintain subscriber lists and coordinate list growth with various departments. Ensure email communications reflect ASI’s brand identity and voice. SOCIAL MEDIA SUPPORT Support all daily communication efforts via social media channels for ASI, the ASI museum Store, and FIKA Café including content generation, posting, promoting posts or events, monitoring, reporting, and analytics. Participate in bi-weekly social media planning meetings to ideate and prepare social media content. Maintain a social media calendar to coordinate posting. Ensure ASI’s social media is reflective of and supports ASI’s organizational initiatives, brand identity and voice, and community. Monitor industry trends, best practices, and adjustments to algorithms, to ensure ASI continues to optimize engagement. Perform other duties as needed or required which are within the position's scope. Requirements Minimum Requirements 1-2 years experience in journalism/marketing, communications or related field or equivalent experience. 1+ years of successful nonprofit communications including a focus on social media and multi-channel marketing and/or equivalent experience Knowledge of current social platforms and trends, understanding of social algorithms and utilizing metrics and data to inform content design and delivery. Creative thinker with ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision. Strong verbal and interpersonal communications skills and demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively. Professional attitude, and ability to warmly engage a wide variety of people. Flexible schedule with ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed for programming and events. Keep current on industry trends, tools, and services. Preferred experience Experience with Constant Contact or similar email marketing system. Experience with WordPress or similar content management system. Graphic design or digital media course work; including experience with tools such as Hootsuite, Canva, Adobe Photoshop, etc. Knowledge and/or interest in Nordic cultures.
