Lead Infant Teacher

Role Description The Lead Infant Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located in the Washington DC-Baltimore area. This position is responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities for infants, including routines that support social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. The Lead Infant Teacher will create a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment, monitor each child’s progress, and maintain accurate records and documentation. Daily responsibilities include engaging infants in interactive learning experiences, following health and safety guidelines, and communicating regularly with families about their child’s day and developmental milestones. The Lead Infant Teacher will also collaborate with other faculty members to align curriculum, participate in staff meetings and professional development, and uphold The Goddard School’s standards of quality care and education. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in Early Childhood Development and Child Development, particularly with infants. Ability to design and implement age-appropriate curriculum development for infant classrooms. Strong teaching skills, including classroom management and individualized care for infants. Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, families, and colleagues. Relevant education such as a CDA, associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred. Experience working in licensed childcare or early learning centers with infants. Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations for infant care. Ability to lift and carry infants and interact at their level throughout the day.
