This role involves providing high-quality speech therapy services to a diverse patient population in an acute care setting. Job Details\n \n Unit: Speech Therapy \n Shift Length: 10 hours \n Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week \n Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year required \n Qualifications\n \n BLS Certification \n CCC-SLP Certification required \n Minimum 1 year of experience in acute care setting \n Competency in Video Fluoroscopic Swallow Study (VFSS) \n Previous experience in a rehabilitation unit is preferred, but new travelers are encouraged to apply \n Responsibilities\n The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for: \n \n Providing therapy to patients in acute inpatient and acute rehabilitation settings. \n Treating a typical caseload of 8 to 10 patients per day with common diagnoses including stroke, pneumonia, and sepsis. \n Collaborating with a team of 3 SLPs to ensure optimal patient care. \n Covering ICU and rehabilitation units, with equal time shared between acute inpatient and acute rehab. \n Potentially floating to nearby medical centers as needed. \n Work Schedule\n Position involves working four 10-hour shifts from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Weekend coverage is required, with holiday work as necessary. Unit-specific orientation will be provided over 2-3 days, with a preference for travelers to accommodate the onboarding schedule. Other Requirements\n All candidates must adhere to the facility's dress code policy, wearing scrubs in designated colors that do not match those of other departments.
