Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in Athens, TN, working mixed day and night shifts with a minimum of 1 year of experience required.

Details

• Work setting is an acute care hospital Med/Surg unit (Level III Trauma Center) in Athens, TN
• Adult and geriatric patient population — no pediatric cases
• Common diagnoses include pneumonia, CVA, chest pain, post-surgical recovery, electrolyte imbalances, and DVT
• Patient ratio of 6:1 with a current max census of 18 patients
• Equipment includes bladder scanners and glucometers
• EMR system is Medhost
• Mixed shift schedule: 2 day shifts and 1 night shift per week (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Weekend hours required (every other weekend)
• No call or float requirements
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license valid in Tennessee (TN state license or Compact license) required
• Required certifications: AHA BLS and AHA ACLS, all must be in hand prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Must reside 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates and eligibility
• Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment

Additional Information

• Critical care thinking skills are preferred
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable; casual wear is not permitted
• All clinical staff working in Tennessee must be cleared through the Tennessee Abuse Registry prior to assignment start
• Orientation is held bi-weekly on Mondays
• The facility is a 2-campus health system serving Athens and Etowah, TN, offering a full range of acute and specialty services
