Job Summary
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) located in Madison, Wisconsin. This high-acuity unit provides specialized care to critically ill pediatric patients, including neonates, infants, children, and adolescents. The role involves joining a multidisciplinary team to deliver family-centered care for patients with complex medical and surgical conditions in a state-of-the-art pediatric facility.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: WI RN or compact RN license, at least 3 years of recent acute care experience, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit experience, strong Pediatric ICU experience, CVICU experience, other relevant certifications including BLS and PALS, EPIC electronic medical record experience, and passing a telemetry test prior to start.
• Certifications: BLS, PALS.
• Skills: End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, managing Ports, administering blood & blood products, Arterial line management, ventilator management, PICC line management, invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring, infection control/PPE, Pediatric Dosage Calculations, Pediatric Early Warning Score, ECAM, ECMO, and other critical care procedures.
• Location: 1675 Highland Ave, Madison, WI 53792. Parking permit required through UW Transportation. Additional transportation options are available.
• Additional Information: Travel requires float to NICU and general care. Must meet minimum of two years of recent inpatient acute care experience within last three years in pediatric critical care. Strict pass/fail telemetry testing with two attempts. The unit offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, radiology, and social services.
