Manager of Auxiliary Programs

Marin Horizon serves about 300 students from toddler through grade eight and is located in Mill Valley, CA. Position Summary Marin Horizon School seeks a dynamic and strategic Manager of Auxiliary Programs to lead and oversee the school’s extended day, enrichment, and summer programming for students Toddler through 8th Grade. Reporting to the Interim Associate Head of School, the Manager is responsible for the design, implementation, staffing, supervision, and evaluation of all auxiliary programming. The Manager will ensure that programs provide safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate experiences that reflect the mission and values of Marin Horizon School while meeting the needs of families. This role blends program leadership, operational management, and community engagement to create high-quality offerings beyond the traditional school day. Hours are 9:00-5:30 daily. RESPONSIBILITIES Provide strategic leadership and vision for aftercare, enrichment, and summer programs serving Toddler through Grade 8. Design and oversee a robust portfolio of after-school enrichment classes, extended care programs, and summer camps aligned with Marin Horizon’s educational philosophy. Evaluate existing programs and implement improvements based on feedback, participation data, and best practices. Develop new programming that meets evolving family needs and enhances student engagement. Design and lead 2 afternoons of K-8 athletic activities Implement systems to assess program quality, participation, and financial sustainability. Conduct regular staff and program evaluations. Use data and feedback to refine programming and improve student experiences. Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate all auxiliary program staff and instructors. Build and maintain a team of internal staff and external enrichment providers. Create clear expectations, schedules, and performance evaluation processes for program staff. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that reflects the culture of the Program Operations & Supervision Ensure smooth daily operations of all aftercare and enrichment programs. Oversee program logistics including scheduling, room assignments, attendance tracking, and student supervision. Maintain appropriate student-to-staff ratios and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Coordinate closely with academic faculty and school leadership to align programming with school operations. Be accessible to families and support the front office each day Summer Programming Design and lead a comprehensive summer program that serves Marin Horizon families and the broader community. Oversee all aspects of summer camp operations including staffing, scheduling, curriculum development, and daily management. Manage vendor relationships and partnerships that support summer offerings. Family Communication & Community Engagement Serve as the primary point of contact for families regarding auxiliary programs. Communicate program offerings, schedules, and updates through school channels. Build strong relationships with families and respond to feedback in a timely and thoughtful manner. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in education, youth development, or related field preferred. 3–5+ years of leadership experience managing youth programs, camps, or auxiliary programs. Experience working with students from early childhood through middle school. Demonstrated success in staff hiring, supervision, and evaluation. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple programs and operational details simultaneously. Compensation and Benefits Marin Horizon School offers a comprehensive benefits package; the salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000.
