# HR Assistant## OverviewSalary Range$19.00 - $28.00 HourlyPosition TypeFull TimeJob ShiftDay Shift## Description**NATURE OF WORK**Fairfield Memorial Hospital is seeking a detail oriented, employee focused HR Assistant to support the daily operations of the Human Resources Department. This position plays a critical role in maintaining efficient administrative processes, accurate employee records, and exceptional customer service for employees, applicants, and leadership. The HR Assistant provides clerical, administrative, and operational support across all areas of Human Resources. Working closely with the Human Resources Business Partner and Chief People Officer (CPO), this individual helps ensure effective HR operations, regulatory compliance, and a positive employee experience.**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES*** Assist with recruitment activities, including job postings, applicant screening, interview coordination, and candidate communications.* Monitor electronic onboarding tasks within the HRIS and ensure new hires complete required forms, training, and acknowledgments within established timelines.* Assist in preparing, coordinating, and facilitating new hire orientation to ensure employees feel welcomed, informed, and prepared for their first day.* Maintain accurate electronic and paper personnel files, including scanning, organizing, filing, and archiving documents.* Answer incoming HR calls, direct inquiries appropriately, and provide routine assistance to employees and applicants.* Greet and assist visitors while maintaining a professional, secure, and welcoming HR office environment.* Schedule appointments, meetings, interviews, and follow-up sessions for HR leadership.* Prepare correspondence, letters, memos, reports, and other communications on behalf of the Chief People Officer.* Support departmental projects, maintain office supplies, prepare documents, and assist with daily administrative workflow.* Enter and update employee information in HR systems, generate reports, and ensure the accuracy of employee records.* Coordinate workers' compensation claims, maintain documentation, and assist with scheduling follow-up reviews and investigations.* Monitor and track required employee training, certifications, licensure renewals, and policy acknowledgments.* Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and organizational information at all times.* Provide outstanding customer service while supporting the mission, vision, and values of Fairfield Memorial Hospital.**COMPENSATION:** $19.00-$28.00 per hour**SCHEDULE:** Monday-Friday; 8:00 am – 5:00 pm **BENEFITS*** 403(b) Retirement Plan* PPO Health Insurance Plan* HDHP Health Insurance Plan w/ Health Savings Account* Dental Insurance Plan* Vision Insurance Plan* Short and Long Term Disability Insurance* Basic and Voluntary Life Insurance Plans* Paid Time Off (Vacation/Sick/Illinois Paid Leave/Holiday)* Flexible Work Schedules* Professional Development Opportunities**WHAT FMH HAS TO OFFER** Fairfield Memorial Hospital is a mission focused critical access hospital dedicated to providing exceptional care to the patients and families we serve, with a strong commitment to improving the health and well‐being of our community through compassionate service, clinical excellence, and a supportive culture that empowers employees to do their best work.
