Our client is a highly respected and capable, design-forward landscape company in the Greater Cleveland market.

They seek a Director of Construction to lead and scale a high-performing division focused on luxury outdoor living hardscape and landscape residential projects. They build pools, outdoor kitchens, patios, stand alone structures, landscape install, irrigation and masonry. Projects can range from $20k to well over $400k with some exceeding $1 million.

What You'll Be Responsible For

You are the leader everything rolls up to—if it's happening in construction, it's your responsibility.

Business Leadership & Financial Ownership

• Own full P&L performance for the construction division
• Drive revenue, profitability, and margin performance on a weekly and monthly basis
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial accountability across all projects
• Ensure strong cash flow and support AR performance

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, coach, and develop Project Managers and field leadership
• Build a team of A-players—train, elevate, or make changes when needed
• Establish a culture of accountability, energy, and performance
• Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and development plans

Operational Excellence

• Standardize processes, build SOPs, and drive consistency across all projects
• Implement training programs and structured onboarding (“training rodeo”)
• Ensure safety, quality, and execution standards are met across all jobs
• Monitor project flow, scheduling, and execution efficiency

Client Experience & Quality

• Ensure an elite client experience from start to finish
• Drive high levels of customer satisfaction and project quality
• Maintain strong communication standards and problem resolution

Project & Process Oversight

• Oversee project handoffs, estimating accuracy, and execution standards
• Conduct bid vs. actual reviews and continuously improve performance
• Ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and at the expected level of quality

Vendor & Subcontractor Management

• Build and manage strong vendor and subcontractor relationships
• Ensure pricing, performance, and contract compliance align with company standards

• Projects delivered on time, on budget, and at a high level of quality

What We're Looking For

• Proven leadership experience in landscape construction, outdoor living, or similar project-based environments
• Strong business acumen with P&L ownership
• Experience managing Project Managers and multiple concurrent projects
• Ability to build systems, develop people, and drive accountability
• A coach and leader who sets the tone and elevates those around them
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and results-driven

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $100,000 target
• Profit Sharing: Significant upside tied to division performance
• Vehicle Allowance:
