Job Description
Join Our Dynamic Nursing Team: Night Shift Med/Surg RN Opportunity!


Job Description:
- Shift: 12-hour Night shifts
- Schedule: 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6-week rotation
- Orientation: Week of in-state orientation; modules may be remote
- Location: Within a 60-mile radius; valid driver's license required

Unit Overview:
- Unit Type: Medical/Surgical
- Total Beds: 14
- Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:4

Required Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Common Patient Diagnoses:
- Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
- Hypertension
- Chest Pain Work-ups
- COPD Exacerbations
- Asthma and Pneumonia
- Pancreatitis
- Bowel Obstructions
- Gastrointestinal Bleeding
- Acute Renal Failure

Must-Have Skills:
- Experience in a rural setting; adaptability to lower resources and typical patient volumes
- Comfort in assessing and escalating patient conditions
- Knowledge of titrating drips (analgesics, anticoagulants, antihypertensives)

Unit Operations:
- RNs will read their own telemetry strips; no dedicated tele/monitor techs available
- Charge Nurse does take an assignment
- One nurse aide assigned for every nine patients

Equipment:
- Respiratory Therapy Equipment: CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow, Vents

Scheduling Information:
- Self-scheduling and block scheduling available
- Weekend Requirement: Minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule
- Holiday shifts may be required
- Floating within the facility as needed (including ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele)

Other Details:
- Scrubs: Navy Blue, provided by the facility
- Charting System: EPIC
- Contract Length: 91 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
