Registered Nurse – Total Joint Full Time – Day Shift Overview The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team who ensures patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high‑quality, safe care. The role supports WellStar’s Shared Governance Model, Professional Practice Model, and evidence‑based practice. All RN Clinical Nurses are licensed and uphold the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics. Responsibilities Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions Perform the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation and evaluation) using evidence‑based practice, analytical and critical thinking, and individualized care coordination. Provide relationship‑based, patient‑centered care adapted to population characteristics and cultural diversity. Partner with patients and significant others using appropriate methods (bedside shift report, interdisciplinary rounds, patient teaching, etc.) and focus care plans on patient goals. Practice current clinical standards and promote safe quality patient care. Teamwork and Collaboration Coordinate delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care and promote respectful, inclusive communication (interdisciplinary rounds, case review, etc.). Demonstate teamwork while being fiscally responsible and supporting recruitment and retention of all team members. Participate in shared governance and performance improvement activities at all system levels. Professional Development and Initiative Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, mandatory and population‑specific education. Serve as a preceptor or mentor for nurses, staff, and students, fostering a qualified workforce and healthy work environment. Evidence‑Based Practice and Research Promote evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement. Participate in data collection, pose clinical questions, consult experts, and use appropriate resources. Resources and Support Plan care across the continuum while providing direct patient care. Participate in development of protocols and procedures to achieve best‑practice outcomes. Support efficient and effective use of human and material resources. Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct. Qualifications Minimum Education : Associate’s Degree in Nursing or graduate of an accredited nursing program; preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Minimum Experience : Less than 1 year of direct patient care experience, completion of accredited clinical hours.
