Registered Nurse, MICU A, 36 Hours (Nights / Rotating Weekends)

About the Position Position: Registered Nurse – Intensive Care (MICU) Location: Boston Medical Center, Massachusetts Schedule: 36 hours per week (nights / rotating weekends) Critical Care/Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU A & B) Boston Medical Center operates two MICUs: MICU A (17 beds) and MICU B (10 beds). Patients include acute medical cases with multisystem failure, renal failure, ARDS, sepsis, and other critical conditions. Position Summary As an RN in the Critical Care unit, you will deliver patient‑centered nursing care, support interdisciplinary teams, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Job Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and education for critical care patients. Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and families. Coordinate and delegate patient‑care tasks to inter‑professional colleagues. Update and manage patient records and interpret computerized data. Follow BMC nursing guidelines, policies, and protocols. Assist leadership in quality improvement projects as needed. Job Requirements Active or pending Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license, or ability to obtain one within 90 days. At least 1 year of RN experience (preferred). Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); additional certifications required for certain units. Nursing degree: diploma, ASN, or BSN (BSN preferred). Ability to obtain a BSN within 4 years of employment (if not already earned). Relevant clinical experience in critical or acute care settings. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Physical ability to perform job duties. Basic computer proficiency. Fluency in another language is a plus. Benefits Competitive pay: $38.05–$75.33 per hour, depending on qualifications.
