Job Title: ER Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 6 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC Must-Have: Experience with common drips including ICU drips Ability to read telemetry strips Experience with CPAP, BiPAP, and vents Description: The Emergency Room is a fast-paced environment requiring strong clinical judgment and the ability to work under pressure. The unit treats an average of 55 patients per day with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:4. There is a charge nurse on each shift who does take an assignment. Emergency room staff includes one physician on duty during the day and night shifts, along with mid-level providers. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7, and staff is responsible for trouble-shooting equipment. RNs are required to draw labs and perform necessary patient assessments. There are no separate holding areas or seclusion rooms; patients are intermixed within the ER. Security personnel are present in the unit 24/7. The successful candidate will participate in holiday and weekend requirements, ensuring that staffing needs are met. Self-scheduling may be allowed, and block scheduling will be based on unit needs.
